Become an HDT Volunteer

One of the best ways to contribute to positive change is to volunteer one’s time, knowledge, skills and experience to support efforts ‘on the ground’. If you are passionate about changing lives, even if just a few lives, of disadvantaged Tanzanians, then one of the ways you can take action is to volunteer with us. Please browse our website to learn more about our work. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Why volunteer with HDT?

As a local NGO, it is difficult to achieve a meaningful impact alone; we need to do it with others, together with you. Your support will either directly or indirectly improve the health of women at reproductive age and children. Here are some examples of the impact of your support as a volunteer to the people we strive to help:

  • You can sensitize the community for improved health seeking behavior;
  • You can facilitate advocacy for increased financing for maternal and child health;
  • You can support CBOs’ capacity to demand accountability for better maternal and child health services;
  • You can provide skills for improved men involvement in maternal and child health;
  • You can bring in skills to improve HDT’s capacity in public health, accounting software system, MER system with online reporting, HRM and administration.

What do you get out of it?

There are many benefits of volunteering with us, including:

  • Meaningful contribution to improving health of mother and child in Tanzania
  • Sharing your skills and expertise as well as learning many new skills
  • Gaining valuable experience while working with and interacting with local Tanzanians
  • Experiencing another culture and gaining new perspectives
  • Experiencing our beautiful country
