Tanzania kicked off GFF’s implementation through a Results Based Financing mechanism in 2015 with the aim of improving maternal, adolescents, newborn, and child health by strengthening primary healthcare. GFF implementation was guided by One Plan II, the national roadmap for reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health which serves as the investment case. Civil society Organizations have played a vital role of advocacy and accountability. Health Promotion Tanzania (HDT) has played huge role in GFF’s planning, implementation and review; bringing in knowledge, expertise, and access to range of community groups. With an extension of GFF Phase II implementation in Tanzania, marks the line how Tanzania has been able to draw a benchmark for other GFF’s implementing countries to grasp on.
